"Random Artists Gallery" Opening Reception Tonight

February 1, 6 PM - 8 PM:   "Random Artists Gallery" showcases the collective works of the many talented artists who have continued to nurture their creativity through workshops at Random Arts in the past 17 yrs. The show will continue through Sunday February 24  and is open during regular shop hours. Everyone is invited to stop by and enjoy catered refreshments and a gathering of artists and their work.

The studio has been transformed into a modern gallery that will house the art of all those who have been a part of Random Arts over the years. Art work included in the show ranges from book arts, collage, assemblage, jewelry, zentangle, quilted wall hangings, watercolors, acrylic, drawing, sketching,fiber arts more.

Random Arts is located at 481 Louisiana Avenue in Saluda NC.

Sugar Mountain Oktoberfest includes over 40 artisans

October  13-14    Sugar Mountain Oktoberfest    Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage and a panoramic view of the surrounding area from the mile and a half long chairlift ride to Sugar's 5,300 ft peak. Everyone, even mountain bikers, are welcome to ride the lift.

Enjoy Oom Pah Band, Bavarian cuisine, including Bratwurst, Knackwurst, German Potato Salad, Sauerkraut and pretzels.  Over 40 artisans and crafters will be exhibiting and selling their work plus there will be a childrens activity center. 10 AM - 5 PM each day.

Blowing Rock's Art in the Park 2012 Season Begins this Weekend

May 12   Art in the Park   The juried arts and craft show features 90+ artists exhibiting in the picturesque downtown Blowing Rock park once a month from May October. Some of the best local and regional artists and craftspeople showcase their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, fiber, glass, photography, painting and more.

Art in the Park began in 1962 through the efforts of local artists and continues today with the administration of the chamber of commerce. Additional dates are: June 16, July 14, August 11, September 8 and October 6.

Penland Exhibit - Generosity of Spirit: The Gifts of Penland Artists

February 10 - March 15, 2012 - An exhibition of contemporary ceramics, jewelry, and metalwork by 68 artists affiliated with Penland School of Crafts. Work in this exhibition has been donated, and proceeds will support a new scholarship fund for Penland clay and metals students.
