Volunteer Opportunities at the Asheville Art Museum

East Wing:  With the recent addition of the Museum's new East Wing, we need volunteers to assist with greeting and directing Museum visitors, monitoring the New Media Gallery, as well as monitoring and keeping the new Art PLAYce well organized. This volunteer opportunity does not require skills for answering calls or using a computer.

North Wing:  In the Museum's North Wing, volunteers are needed to greet and orient guests, making sure that they have been properly signed in and have received a Museum sticker before exploring the upstairs galleries. North Wing volunteers are also needed to provide backup with

Central Visitor Services Desk:  This volunteer opportunity is perfect for the go-getter, outgoing personality type! Visitor Services volunteers proactively greet and interact with Museum guests, answering questions and providing our visitors with information about exhibitions on view and related Museum details. These volunteers will also answer phones, and sell tickets and Museum Shop merchandise. Cash handling and computer experience are a plus.
Volunteer Shifts (Tuesday through Sunday):
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  
1:00 - 5:00 p.m.  
*Afternoon shift only on Sundays

Upcoming Events at BRAHM

October 29, 1-3 PM, BRAHM Lobby Book-signing with Jonathan Graves, author of the children's book  Isabella Propeller and the Magic Beanie. Copies of the book are available in the BRAHM Bookstore.

November 1, 9-10 AM, Community Meeting Room - BRAHM Gallery Guide Interest Meeting.  The Museum is seeking volunteers of all ages for its inaugural docent program. Prior experience is beneficial but not required; applicants simply need an enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge with others. Those interested in becoming a Gallery Guide are invited.  Coffee and light refreshments will be served. In addition to the Gallery Guide program, there are many other volunteer opportunities at the Museum.

Call for Volunteers

Quilter's Quarters is calling for volunteers for this Tuesday night to make pillowcases for Sandy's mission trip to Africa next month. 5:30-7:00 just bring your machines and show up. With a few people pressing and a few sewing about 24 will get done. Tthe following Tues night, Aug 2nd - same time, we will do it again. The goal is to make at least 40.
