Quilter's Quarters Ruler Demo and Discounts tomorrow

Aug 6 at Quilter's Quarters there will be lots of exciting new rulers and patterns that go with them....open your world to a new concept in quilting. Karla Alexander has several books out that many have used already, but now she has teamed up with Creative Grids to make rulers for all her "free-form" cuts....you don't have to have the rulers to make the quilts but it sure is alot easier.

The demos will also be using the "90 degree double-strip" ruler that goes with Kathy Brown's new book...."Strip-Smart Quilts"...makes perfect seams every time for half-square triangles, 60 degree triangles and 45 degree kaleidoscope triangles; all from 2-1/2" strips.

The demo will be at 10:00, 10:45, 11:30, 12:15 and 1:00 in the classroom at the back of the store. Quilter's Quarters is located at 1510 Dellwood Road in Waynesville NC

Biltmore Village Art & Craft Fair

August 6-7, Saturday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Sunday Noon to 6:00 PM - Village Art & Craft Fair.  

The fair hosts 125 artists from 17 states, representing the full spectrum of craft media - jewelry, ceramic, wood, fiber, metals, two-dimensional art and more. The craft fair is a great opportunity to encounter new artists (15 are first-time exhibitors) and to talk with crafters one-on-one. Most exhibitors are not represented at New Morning Gallery, so visitors are sure to find new treasures along with a few old favorites.

The Fair is sponsored by New Morning Gallery and Bellagio and is held on the grounds of the Cathedral of all Souls in Biltmore Village. In its 39th year, the VACF continues a long tradition of bringing high-quality crafts to Biltmore Village.

Believe in Yourself Retreat in Blowing Rock, NC

Sept 7 - 11 For the 6th year the Believe in Yourself Retreat will be inspiring creativity and empowering participants with artist expression. The Creative Spirits team of Susan and Kristi has designed the experience to inspire and energize collage and mixed media artist of all levels of expertise. Visit vendors with the latest in artist supplies and essentials.

Join like minded folks in the beautiful setting of Blowing Rock, NC - a "nest" in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Facilitators Kristi and Susan inspire creative vision and talent over three days of creative play. Room accommodations are provided by the Meadowbrook Inn, with breakfasts included.

Women of Western North Carolina at Skyuka Fine Art this month
