Art for Penland is a web-based art sales program designed to support Penland's classes, programs, studios, and scholarships through the sale of art contributed by artists and other donors.

Funds from the sale of these items go directly to Penland School of Crafts. Penland's fees for tuition, room, and board cover less than half the annual expense for classes, outreach programs, and services to artists. Your contribution directly benefits the artists and students who study and work here. Help sustain Penland's exceptional programs and the school's leadership in the field of craft education.

Random Arts Last Ruby Thursday for the year

December 1 at 1 PM, Random Arts, 481 Louisiana Ave in Saluda NC - Holiday Card Creations ( just $10. and we have all the supplies) There are 3 spaces available. Afternoon session only (1-3pm). Pre-register by  email.

Asheville Art Museum Art Break

December 2 from 12 - 1 PM at the Asheville Art Muesum: A Tisket A Tasket: Appalachian, Cherokee and Low Country Baskets   With Cherokee novelist and poet, Robert J. Conley. Free event with Membership or Museum Admission.

The Asheville Art Museum presents lunchtime Art Breaks every first and third Friday of the month as a series of gallery talks and presentations designed to inform and engage Museum Members and visitors in dialogue with members of the Curatorial and Education Departments, Museum Docents and special guests.

The Foothills Art Council Open Air Art Market

December 2 - 3, 10 AM - 5 PM   The Foothills Art Council Open Air Art Market   The open air art market, a juried fine arts & crafts show with a special festive feel.  Shoppers can browse through a tent of 30 vendors and meander through the arbor into the entertainment yard offering wine and beer, food, S'mores-making by a fire pit, Christmas trees and live music. The Art Market is located in Elkin NC, a few miles NE of Wilkesboro.
