Front Street Arts and Crafts Show this Weekend in Dillsboro NC

June 18, 2016 in Dillsboro NC - Front Street Arts and Crafts Show   Enjoy over 40 booths  displaying the hand-made craftsmanship of some of the best artists from around the region, along with live family entertainment and festival food. 

There will also be a silent auction to benefit the Lighthouse Baptist Church Missionary Fund. Event hours are 10 AM to 4 PM.


Live Entertainment Schedule:


 11 AM - 12 PM and 12:15 PM - 1 PM:   Twelfth Fret - Husband and wife team acoustic duo with Craig Neidlinger on guitar and Kim Neidlinger on upright bass. The duo performs original music as well as classic pop and rock from Elton John, America, John Prine, The Beatles, David Bowie, The Eagles and more.

 1:30 - 2:15 PM:  J. Creek Cloggers - A high energy dance team out of Haywood County will be "Dancin in the Street". Enjoy old time mountain tradition clogging, audience participation square dancing and broom dances. Members will demonstrate different styles of dances including buck dancing, flat foot and clogging. The Team director is Kim Ross.

2:15 - 3:15 PM: Betty Brown - Specializing in singing Appalachian Stories, Betty Brown writes and records original "story" songs about faith, family and growing up in Appalachia. Her songs include such titles as Abiding in the Vine, My Appalachia and Smoky Mountain Memories.

3:15 - 3:45 PM:  Kim Schuler - Raised in a family of multi-generational musicians, Kim Schuler was singing before she could walk and eventually earned her degree in music from Western Carolina University. Her specialty is "vintage" music, songs her audiences love to dance to and have fun with and which date from the 30s to the 90s.

ColorFest, Art and Taste of Appalachia this Weekend in Dillsboro NC

October 17, 2015   ColorFest, Art and Taste of Appalachia   Autumn's colors and flavors take center stage  during this popular annual festival. This arts and food event fills the sidewalks of Dillsboro with a variety of mountain artisans demonstrating their skills, plus food vendors serving up a taste of the North Carolina mountains.  

Local musicians and street entertainers add music to festivities, while restaurants and shops are open to serve the crowds throughout the day.  10 AM - 4 PM.

ColorFest is Looking for Fine Artists and Crafters

Colorfest, a Dillsboro Fine Arts & Crafts Fair, is looking for artists of all media to participate in this 6th annual fine art festival to be held on October 4, 2014 in the historic town of Dillsboro, NC. Regional fine artists and crafters are encouraged to apply.
 
Within the colors of autumn, the town of Dillsboro will welcome visitors to this walk-about town where the artisans will be displaying their works. ColorFest participants will be showcased in a new format for this year's festival, in which they will be set up continuously and conveniently directly on Front Street. Church Street will be sectioned off for food booths. 
 
Interacting with the public from 10 AM until 4 PM on October 4,  artisans have the opportunity to show how their art is created as well as selling their artwork.

This year cash prizes, sponsored by Champion Credit Union, will be awarded to the artisans. Categories:  First place for fine art $100; Second place for fine art $50. First place for fine craft $100; second place for fine craft. Best of Show—Booth $150.

American Craft Week Event: ColorFest in Dillsboro

October 6   ColorFest, Art and Taste of Appalachia   Autumn's colors and flavors take center stage Saturday, Oct. 6, during this fourth annual festival. This arts and food event fills the sidewalks of Dillsboro with a variety of mountain artisans demonstrating their skills, plus food vendors serving up a taste of the North Carolina mountains. Local musicians and street entertainers add music to festivities, while restaurants and shops are open to serve the crowds throughout the day. 10 AM - 4 PM.

Leisurely stroll through the town encountering fine artists painting at easels under colorful umbrellas, hear strands of music blossoming through the doorways and experience a delicious taste of NC foods and wines ...all the time surrounded by the spectacular fall beauty of the mountains.


Talk with local artists, authors, growers, wine makers and musicians as you wander through the picturesque town, unique shops and choice restaurants. Works from participating artists have been on display in the windows of shops in Dillsboro since September 6.
