Cloth Fiber Workshop Celebrates New location within The River Arts District

March 4, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Cloth Fiber Workshop, Riverview Station, 191 Lyman Street, Studio 104 in Asheville NC - Grand Opening Celebration. Come enjoy the evening and festivities including a fashion show at 7 PM.

Cloth Fiber Workshop is a textile arts and learning Center dedicated to the celebration of creativity through textiles. Cloth offers a variety of workshops for all experience levels.

Mountain Made Ribbon-cutting Re-opening

January 18, 4:30 PM, Mountain Made at the Grove Arcade in Asheville NC. Mountain BizWorks will celebrate another woman-owned business when Mountain Made, a retail shop located in Asheville's Grove Arcade Public Market, hosts a ribbon-cutting for its re-opening.   Melinda Knies, long-time store manager at Mountain Made, purchased the retail store from Mountain BizWorks in November 2011.  The ribbon-cutting ceremony  is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

The gallery shop features handcrafted work from more than 150 Western NC artisans, including jewelry, pottery, textiles, glasswork, furniture and more - the same types of popular items featured by Mountain Made since Mountain BizWorks opened the store in 2002.
"Melinda has managed Mountain Made since the beginning, and this is a great opportunity for her to take the store to the next level and make it her own," says John Mark Stroud, Mountain BizWorks' Board Chair.  "Mountain BizWorks' Board of Directors and staff are proud that we have helped an entrepreneur transition to ownership of a local business."  Knies is thrilled to become a business owner again. "I am excited to continue building the business and the relationships that have been established with the artists and customers over the last nine years."

Mountain Made is located inside the historic Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville at One Page Avenue, Suite 123. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, and Sunday noon - 5:00 pm.

Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening at Mud Leaf Pottery in Bryson City

Sept 25 at 10 AM owners Ron and Byrdell Sparks are joined by the Swain County Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration of the grand opening of Mud Leaf Pottery. Come out for a full day of fun, food and free gifts for the first 50 attendees as you stroll through the workshop and gallery. “I encourage the public and certainly our Chamber family of members to come out and support the addition of a great new business to the community”, stated Karen Wilmot, executive director of the Swain County Chamber of Commerce.
