Annual Saluda Arts Festival

 May 20, 2017   in  SALUDA NC -   Saluda Arts Festival   This  year's annual festival will include

 almost 90 artists and craftspeople, lively and award winning music, the children's art tent, several art and craft demonstrators and delicious food from our local restaurants. 


The festival also pays tribute this year to the late artist Johnny Waddill with a special exhibit displaying his work during the festival at the Saluda Center, 64 Greenville St., Saluda, NC.

Boardwalk Arts and Crafts Show at Lake Lure 4th of July Celebration


July 3 -  4, 2016   4th of July Celebration at Lake Lure  July 3 offers a Beach Bonfire and Marshmallow Roast. Then on the 4th enjoy a day and evening of family fun and activities from 8 Am until 10 PM. 

The Boardwalk Arts and Crafts Sale includes the works of local artists and crafters displaying along the Lake Lure boardwalk near the members' marina.

There will also be a Kids Zone at the Beach, Fire truck rides and temporary tattoos, Bingo at the Pavilion and a golf cart parade. The Beach Cookout, Tiki Bar at the Cabana and Ice Cream at the Cabana all open at 11 AM.   

Take a fireworks cruise or stay on land and watch the Color Guard and Fireworks display. The remarkable display over Lake Lure is considered one of the most spectacular anywhere in the mountains.

Annual Blue Ridge Barbeque and Music Festival this Weekend in Tryon

June 12 - 13, 2015   Annual Blue Ridge Barbeque and Music Festival   The Blue Ridge Barbecue Festival is one of the area's biggest annual events with fantastic Barbecue, phenomenal music and incredible arts and crafts. 

Enjoy the classic car show or the Boss Hawg Run to  Fun.  Bring the kids, friends, family and more. No pets, no coolers are allowed. The festival is held at Harmon Field in Tryon NC and hosted by by the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce with all proceeds benefitting the Chamber’s operating budget and funding the Carolina Foothills Chamber Foundation.

The Foothills Crafts Fair is a juried crafts show held in conjunction with the Blue Ridge Barbeque and music Festival. Located on either side of a wide paved avenue and along the Pacolet River, there are usually soft breezes to cool the June temperatures down a bit and provide shoppers a more comfortable environment.  Craft lovers can find objects made from wood, paper, fiber, fabric, leather, metal, gems, glass, stone, clay and other natural materials.

Exhibiting artisans have come from as far north as New York, as far south as Florida, and as far west as Oklahoma.  2015 exhibitors include:

Local NC Crafts at the Mountain High BBQ and Music Festival

August 9 - 10    Franklin hosts the annual Mountain High BBQ & Music Festival   at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center, 1436 Georgia Road.  In addition to BBQ, Music and a Car Show the festival offers local NC crafts.

This two-day event features authentic, mouth-watering BBQ, and is an official North Carolina State BBQ Championship competition with $11,000 in cash and awards. Enjoy the live entertainment, classic cars, cornhole tournament  and tastin’ tent.

Hours are
Friday 11 AM to 8 PM and Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM.

Saluda Arts Festival this Weekend

May 18 - The Saluda Art Festival - This year's festival includes nearly  90 artists and craftspeople, lively and award winning music, the children's art tent, several art and craft demonstrators and delicious food from our local restaurants.

A highlight of the Festival is the dedication to artist Johnny Waddill who graciously permitted the festival's organizers to use his painting to brand the Saluda Arts Festival. He died on March 1, 2013, and to honor Johnny Waddill's love for art, the Saluda Business Association is dedicating the 10th Annual Saluda Arts Festival to his memory. There will be a special exhibit displaying his work during the festival at the Saluda Center, 64 Greenville St., Saluda, NC. The Saluda Center will also be open as a "comfort station" for festival goers. 

Entertainment Schedule
 (McCreery Park Pavilion) 
11am- Magician and TV personality, Jack Roper, will entertain the audience. 
11am - Spring Concert from the Dancer's Extension at Saluda School
Students from The Dancer's Extension will perform their Spring Concert.
12pm - Sol Driven Train - Children's Concert
1pm - Clay Ross Band, guitarist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter with Brazilian-style rhythms.
3pm - Sol Driven Train, versatile 5-piece band, based in Charleston, SC, features rotating lead vocalists, and multi-instrumental talent spread across horns, strings, and percussion.
Music for the Saluda Arts Festival is funded by the Polk County Community Foundation's Saluda Fund Grant. This grant is a major reason that the Saluda Arts Festival can bring high-caliber, talented musicians to the festival each year.

WNC Pottery Festival today in Dillsboro

November 3  WNC Pottery Festival This event Showcases the work of more than 40 highly skilled potters from 13 states. A variety of clay art styles will be presented. |

Works by festival organizers and Dillsboro potters Joe Frank McKee & Travis Berning of Tree House Pottery, and Brant Barnes of Riverwood Pottery who has been featured on HGTV will be highlighted. The event is juried and the lineup of potters is impressive. $3 ticket includes a chance in a raffle; kids under 12 admitted free

Spruce Pine Gallery Current Exhibit
