Folkmoot USA Last Weekend

16-26 Folkmoot USA. Folkmoot USA, North Carolina's Official International Festival, is a two-week celebration of the world's cultural heritage through folk music and dance. Held each summer across the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, Folkmoot features performances, parades and workshops by more than 350 performers from a dozen or so countries. Performers demonstrate cultural heritage through colorful, authentic and original reproduction costumes, lively dance and beautiful music. During its 25-year history, over 200 folk groups from more than 100 countries have shared their heritage and culture at Folkmoot USA.

Dodi Lovett Exhibit July 20th- Bryson City

The Gallery at Swain County Center for the Arts will be open for browsing on Monday, July 20, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm or by appointment on other dates and times. The current exhibit of original artwork in pen and ink and watercolorare priced to sell. Prices range from $5 for a pack of 10 note cards to $375 for the large centerpiece.

yet had the opportunity to see the current exhibit of original artwork in pen and ink and
watercolor by Dodi Lovett. All artwork you purchase can be picked up anytime after Fokmoot. Dodi Lovett's exhibit will be taken down on Friday
July 24, and an exhibit of large watercolor paintings by Pamela Haddock will be going up.

NC Artists Event: 62nd Annual Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands

16-19 62nd Annual Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands. It’s the 62nd season of the bi-annual Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands, July 16-19 and October 15-18, 2009. The Craft Fair is an event where connoisseurs and novices alike come to craft a collection, connect with tradition, and invest in regional culture. Cherokee Carving Tradition Exhibit- Asheville

July 10 - 12/6 Asheville Art Museum. Cherokee Carvers
Tradition Renewed will examine different aspects of late 20th and early 21st century Cherokee carving. It will include ritual objects, functional wares and pieces designed to be sold to tourists and collectors. The exhibition will include both stone and wood carvings and focuses on artists working in Western North Carolina today.
