The Textile Studio at the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center offers Support for Local Handwork and Entrepreneurship. Handwork and textile skills have long been a staple in Appalachian culture, but the future of these skills is waning and we are in danger of losing these treasured crafts forever. The Steocoah Textile Studio offers a means of continuing our textile heritage skills along with the opportunity for participants to learn new business skills necessary for success in selling their handwork. The primary objective is to offer participants the opportunity to profitably sell their textiles and improve entrepre-neurial skills by providing business development guidance and educational opportunities.
