The Governor's Western Residence is looking for artists to donate items for their permanent collection in the home. The Governor's Western Residence sits atop Sunset Mountain overlooking Asheville NC. The residence, currently being renovated, boasts an incredible view of the city below, promises to be a cozy and welcoming location for over 15 - 20,000 visitors a year.
The craft items will be on display and used in the home. Already over $52,000 worth of furniture and decor have been donated by local companies. The residence is currently looking for items to fill a curio cabinet, many wall pieces, a sliding piece to cover a flat screen TV when not in use, sconces, lamps, glassware, and dinnerware. All of the items accepted for donation will be listed in a brochure and coffee table book about the residence. To be considered for inclusion in the residence, please submit your items to Kaye Myers, Tourism Development Officer at kaye.myers@ncdcr.gov. All accepted submissions MUST be delivered by May 1, so time is of the essence.
