January 23, 30, February 6 and 13, 2016  (Saturdays) 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Explore the Power of Art and Writing. In this four-part writing workshop, explore the influence that the visual arts have on emotions, memories, and stories. 

Each week focuses on a different type of artwork in the Museum's collection or special exhibitions, both as a point of meditation and inspiration for discussion and written responses. This workshop is an outlet for writers of all levels to broaden familiarity with artistic and written genres, spark creativity in surprising places, develop and hone writing skills, and receive valuable feedback.

Random Arts - Ready for a Creative New Year

Our friends at Random Arts are ready with their usual "open mindedness" for another exciting, fun and creative year in 2016. New artists will arrive on the scene along with "tried and true" artists that return year after year. Some events are already posted on their website while others will continue to develop as the year unfolds and the creativity blossoms.

Happy Monday! The Museum has announced that it will be open on Mondays, beginning January 4, 2016. The new hours are Monday - Saturday, 10 AM - 5 PM, with extended hours on Thursdays - 10 AM - 7 PM.

Call for Exhibition Proposals  The Museum is accepting exhibition proposals for the Alexander Community Gallery. The gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the Museum, features monthly exhibitions of artwork by local, regional, and community artists. Solo and group exhibitions are considered.
