Blowing Rock NC Hosts 8th Annual Art and Antiques Show this Weekend

July 29 - 31, 2016   8th Annual Art & Antiques Show  at The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum   This sale and show offers heirloom-quality antique silver, furniture, pottery, jewelry, clocks, crystal and more. Vendors from across the East Coast bring a variety of items.  

The Preview Party will be held on 7/31 from 6:30 PM - 8 PM. Admittance is $40 per person (including wine and hors d'oeurves). Tickets are $10 and good for the entire show. 

The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM) is located at 159 Chestnut Street in Blowing Rock NC.

The Preview Party this year is unique. As always, serious shoppers will get a sneak peak and early buying opportunity while enjoying wine and cheese at the Museum. Then preview party participants will be transported to a new eatery in downtown Blowing Rock, the New Public House and Hotel for a private dinner.

August 2-5   A Celebration of Art and Antiques   The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM) presents its third annual Celebration of Art & Antiques, a three-day-weekend sale of heirloom-quality antique silver, furniture, pottery, jewelry, clocks, crystal and more. The event is open to the public.

Arts & Crafts Antique Show and Conference 2012 this Weekend in Asheville

February 17-19   Arts & Crafts Antique Show and Conference 2012   Hosted by the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC, this conference is dedicated to the education of the collector. The weekend blends informative talks with an immense show of furniture and collectibles.

Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy recently proclaimed the week of February 12-18 Arts & Crafts Heritage Week, citing the role the American Arts & Crafts movement has played in the "artistic, architectural,aesthetic and economic development of the City of Asheville".  The week will include discussions, presentations, and exhibits:

Daily Pack Library Exhibit: “Arts & Crafts of Western North Carolina”

February 13. 5:30-7:00 PM:
  Slide Presentation: “From Mountain Crafts to  Arts & Crafts” by Bruce E. Johnson; Renaissance Hotel. Free.

February 14, 6:00-7:00 PM:
  Panel Discussion: “Problems and Solutions in Restoring Older Homes” by the Asheville Preservation Society; Masonic Temple. Historic building  will be conducted from 5:00-6:00 PM. Free.

February 15, Noon-1:15 PM:  Luncheon Presentation: “Green and Greener: The New Arts & Crafts Bungalow” by the Asheville chapter of the American Institute of Architects; Princess  Anne Hotel,  Free, Optional lunch is available for $10 - reservations are required, 404-376-7452.

November 4-6   65th Annual Asheville Antiques Fair   One of the oldest antiques fairs in the Southeast. Thirty-plus antique dealers from all over the country participate in the Fair. The Fair also host an "Heirloom Road Show" with expert evaluations of your personal antiques. Plus, expert lectures on a variety of interesting subjects.

July 28 - 31   BRAHM Art & Antiques Weekend Event   View hundreds of beautiful antiques and art pieces at this annual exhibition and sale presented by the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum. 
 
Gallery Talks   ($5 each) - Enjoy coffee and croissants at the gallery talks on Friday and Saturday. The speakers will begin their programs at 9 AM:

Friday: Graham Holiday, a fifth-generation antique furniture dealer who has been in the business for 50 years,  will discuss how English furniture complements – and has heavily influenced – the American furniture industry and how to care for antique furniture so that it retains its value.

Saturday:  Prominent Blowing Rock antiques dealer and cut glass expert Bill Brooks will be back by popular demand to educate attendees on the beauty and variety of exquisite glass.
