July 23 - 26, 2014    50th Annual Macon County Gemboree  The Second oldest gem and mineral show in the Southeast features dealers from across the United States. Rough and cut gemstones, minerals, lapidary equipment and much more. The event is sponsored by the Franklin Chamber of Commerce and the Gem and Mineral Society of Franklin.

Autumn Leaves Craft Show in Franklin NC

October 9 - 11, 2014   Autumn Leaves Craft Show Unique, hand-made crafts by local skilled artisans in Western North Carolina. Enjoy great food and more. Bring a can of cat food for Catman 2 Shelter.

The Craft Show is held at the Macon County Fairgrounds in Franklin NC.

October 26-28  23rd Annual Leaf Lookers Gemboree  The mountains of southwestern North Carolina are alive with more than autumn color during the annual Leaf Lookers Gemboree. Choose from rough & cut gemstones, fine jewelry, minerals and more. The event is held at the Macon County Community Building in Franklin NC. 

Mountain High BBQ & Music Festival in Franklin

August 10 - 11  Mountain High BBQ & Music Festival BBQ, Music and Car Show. This two-day event features authentic, mouth-watering BBQ, live entertainment ,a car show, cornhole tournament, crafters and tastin’ tent. This is an official North Carolina State BBQ Championship with $11,000 in cash and awards. Held in Franklin NC

Annual Airing of the Quilts this weekend in Franklin NC

May 12    Airing of the Quilts Downtown stores and churches will be decorated with quilts. Downtown Square will features exhibits by the Smoky Mountain Quilters guild, Macon county Quilt Trail, Macon County Art Association, and various community development clubs. The Town of Franklin antique fire truck will be decorated and on display.
