Upstairs Artspace in Tryon NC

December 12 - 18, 2015     100X100 Art Sale Fundraiser at the Upstairs Art Space.  This popular  fundraiser returns just in time for holiday gift-giving. Original artwork by 100 artists will be sold on a first-come, first served basis for $100 each. 


The sale begins with an opening reception held on Friday, Dec. 5, from 5 - 8 pm; the same evening as the Tryon Holiday Stroll. Participating artists will remain anonymous until the final day of the exhibit when their identities will be revealed during a closing reception Friday, Dec. 19, from 5 - 7:30 pm.

Holiday Art Show in Tryon NC

November 22 - 12/20, 2014   Holiday Art Show   at Tryon Painters and Sculptures in their new location, 78 N. Trade Street in Tryon NC. The initial event at the new gallery location will include sculptures, paintings and craft items associated with the Gift Gallery for sale until December 24th.

Tryon Gallery Trot This Weekend

April 13, 5 PM - 8 PM:  During the Tryon Gallery Trot downtown Tryon NC comes to life with galleries hosting opening receptions, late hours or special events. The Tryon Gallery Trots exciting evenings during which the arts are the primary focus with all invited to attend and enjoy. Everyone has the opportunity to view new art exhibits and meet and talk with artists a nd craftspeople, or authors and illustrators during the Trots. Enjoy light refreshments,  view art demonstrations and listen to live performances.

Big Brother, Big Sister Benefit at the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon

January 19, 5 PM - 9 PM - Artspace Opening reception for UPLOAD Digital Camera Phone Art.  The first of it's kind in the region, the Upstairs is recognizing the photography of the digital camera phone as a contemporary art medium with this exhibition titled "UPLOAD". All proceeds benefit the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Polk County.The Exhibit continues until March.

The Upstairs Artspace is located at 49 South Trade Street in Tryon NC.

American Craft Week Event: Tryon Fall Arts and Crafts Festival

October 13-14   5th Annual Tryon Arts and Crafts Fall Festival  Celebrate the artists of the region at an annual event better than ever in 2012. Explore and enjoy juried arts and crafts, craft demonstrations, silent auction, food vendors and a children's craft corner. The festival is free and open to the public. Saturday, 10/13 10am-5pm, Sunday, 10/14 11am-5pm.

View new art exhibits, meet and talk with artists and craftspeople, or authors and illustrators,  enjoy light refreshments, and view art demonstrations and  performances.

Foothills Craft Fair held in Conjunction with The Blue Ridge Barbeque and Musical Festival

June 8-9  The Foothills Craft Fair has become an important part of the Annual Blue Ridge Barbeque and Music Festival in Tryon NC. Dotted along the Pacolet River, many of the artisans demonstrate their skills and enjoy chatting with you about their craft. The juried Fair offers a variety of handcrafted items for show and sale to the 20,000 - or so- visitors attending the Fair each year.

The Festival includes two full days of live music performances and one of the most popular sanctioned barbecue competitions in the United States.

Art Trek in Tryon NC this week

May   4-6    Art Trek Tryon   Approximately 40 artists in Tryon, Saluda, and Columbus, NC and Landrum, SC open their studios to the public. Trekking begins on Friday evening, May 4, and continues through Sunday, May 6. Saturday studio hours are 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday hours are 12 noon to 4 pm. 

Enjoy dining at sponsoring restaurants. An Art Trek Guide is your road map to the artistic community and is available from Trek Base Upstairs Artspace gallery located in downtown Tryon. The guide provides an image of each artist’s work, directions to their studio and road maps of each community. Four area maps identify major roads and artist locations.  MAPS are are also available at artist's studios.
