Now through Feb 23, The Focus Gallery at the Folk Art Center, Milepost 382 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville North Carolina. The turned wood art of Dave Shombert and the fiber art of Elizabeth Ann Garlington is on display in the Folk Art Center's Focus Galler. David Shombert of Elkins, WV has been turning wood for over ten years and has been a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild since 2004. His specialty is segmented work. Elizabeth Garlington grew up surrounded by artists in a home filled with all forms of creative activity. She has been implementing community visual arts initiatives since 1985 as a visual arts educator, expressive arts therapist, and as a fiber artist.
