Weaving is the craft that's probably most identifiable as traditionally Appalachian. The weaving program at John C Campbell Folk School honors traditional roots while celebrating new and creative innovations in the craft. The diversity of classes will teach beginning or seasoned weaver techniques such as doubleweave, weaving with found objects, or Sakiori- Japanese rag weaving.
In just a week or weekend class, you'll produce beautiful table runners, place mats, bags, rag rugs, and scarves you will be proud to tell your friends you made. View a list of available weaving classes for the rest of this year. Visit the Folk School Flickr page for more weaving photos.
