In 1879, the Western North Carolina Railroad built Andrews Geyser
as a tourist attraction. It was placed adjacent to Round Knob Hotel and
entertained train passengers for years as they approached their
destination. Today, the geyser is a public park adjacent to spectacular
Mill Creek and is also a site on the North Carolina Civil War Trail.
