Artists Sought to Participate in 100th Anniversary Celebration

The Old Fort Mountain Heritage Alliance is seeking arts and craft vendors to participate in the celebration acknowledging Andrews Geyser’s 100th anniversary.  The festival will be held in downtown Old Fort in and around the c. 1881 train depot on September 22, 2012 from 11 AM - 4 PM  The vendor fee is $25.00 payable on the day of the event.  Electrical outlets are available, if needed.

In 1879, the Western North Carolina Railroad built Andrews Geyser as a tourist attraction.  It was placed adjacent to Round Knob Hotel and entertained train passengers for years as they approached their destination.  Today, the geyser is a public park adjacent to spectacular Mill Creek and is also a site on the North Carolina Civil War Trail.
