New Exhibit Opens tomorrow at the Asheville Art Museum


A Tisket A Tasket: Appalachian, Cherokee, and Low Country Baskets  opens July 15 in the Holden Community Gallery at the Asheville Art Museum. The exhibit features local Cherokee basket makers Bessie Jumper, Lucille Lossiah and Marian Wolfe, as well as local Appalachian basket makers Harold Evans, Patti Quinn Hill and Billie Ruth Sudduth. There will be a reception from 5:30 - 7:30 PM for the exhibit whci wil continue through January 8, 2012.

A Tisket A Tasket: Appalachian, Cherokee, and Low Country Baskets looks at the three predominant approaches to basket making, cultural influences, styles of baskets and the range of materials and methods. More details here.
