village of Dillsboro NC scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2015.

juried show also features food, entertainment, silent auction and

every third Saturday, July through September, a venue designed to give artisans an

officially confirmed, ColorFest will again feature $500 in cash prizes
sponsored by Champion Credit Union. This years date is October 3.
The new Oktoberfest on October 17 has a low $25 entry fee for
artisans. Participate in these events and help make Dillsboro NC a popular mountain art and craft destination.

Open Call for Fine Artists and Mountain Crafters 18th Annual Greening Up the Mountains Festival
Greening Up the Mountains Festival, which brought between 10,000 to 12,000 people to the mountain town of Sylva NC last year, is now inviting fine artists, mountain crafters and food vendors to apply for a booth in it’s18th year as the premiere spring festival for Western North Carolina.
On April 25, 2015 from 10 AM to 5 PM the festival, sponsored by the Town of Sylva, will once again take place in downtown Sylva. The event includes demonstrating visual artists and traditional crafters supported by a mountain community which honors its artisans and natural environment.
Daylong events will be held on Main Street and in the Bridge Park, beginning with a 5K race sponsored by the Jackson County Recreation/Parks Department. Children’s activities, demonstrations, a youth talent contest and live performances by a wide variety of Jackson County musicians will be featured throughout the day.

ColorFest is Looking for Fine Artists and Crafters
Colorfest,
a Dillsboro Fine Arts & Crafts Fair, is looking for artists of all
media to participate in this 6th annual fine art festival to be held on
October 4, 2014 in the historic town of Dillsboro, NC. Regional fine
artists and crafters are encouraged to apply.
Within
the colors of autumn, the town of Dillsboro will welcome visitors to
this walk-about town where the artisans will be displaying their works.
ColorFest participants will be showcased in a new format for this
year's festival, in which they will be set up continuously and conveniently directly on
Front Street. Church Street will be sectioned off for food booths.
Interacting
with the public from 10 AM until 4 PM on October 4, artisans have
the opportunity to show how their art is created as well as selling their
artwork.

PlottFest Seeks Artisans and Craft Demonstrators
PlottFest celebrates it's second annual festival with the best in
mountain music, American Plott Association and National Plott
Association sanctioned Bench Dog Shows, and the Smoky Mountain Trout
Festival. All profits from the Festival will Benefit Head Start of
Haywood and Jackson Counties.
The Festival is currently seeking artists, crafters and craft demonstrators to participate in the event. PlottFest will be held at the Maggie Valley Fairgrounds in the heart of Maggie Valley on June 22-23, 2013.

Artist Opportunity for WNC Designers
Three local
creatives have come together to provide an exciting opportunity for
craft artists and designers of all kinds. Fashion designer Angela Kim
and Knitwear designer Ryan-Ashley Anderson are working as stylists in
collaboration with Art Director Chris Sams for a photo shoot that
combines rustic rural scenery with contemporary handmade furniture,
apparel, jewelry and accessories to showcase the talents and skills of
WNC designers.
Why be a part of this?
Collaboration is an important part of networking and a great way to expand your market. This project is meant to help you, and the coordinating designers, diversify portfolios. The photos produced from this project will be used on various blogs where all designers will get credited for their specific work and participation in the project. Additionally, as a designer you will receive files of any photos your work is featured in! Use them for your blog, your website, or advertising.

Asheville Calls for Artists to Design Bele Chere Festival Poster
The City of Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department seeks artists and illustrators to design the official Bele Chere 2013 Festival Poster. Artists are invited to submit examples of previous poster designs. The selected artist will create the official festival artwork to be used for the festival’s image and merchandise sales of posters and t-shirts.
The winning artist will receive $1,000 upon completion of the project. Selected local WNC nonprofits receive a percentage of sales proceeds in exchange for facilitating merchandise sales during the festival.

HandMade in America Call for Artists
HandMade in America has announced a call for entry for the upcoming exhibition Breaking Ground: Innovative Craft. Pieces should incorporate innovative ideas which help push the boundaries of the medium, and will be judged on technical proficiency, creative use of the medium, and contemporary relevance.
This exhibition is open to craft artists living in the 25 counties of Western North Carolina as defined on the website, www.handmadeinamerica.org. Craft is defined as made from clay, glass, fiber, metal, wood, recycled/reused materials, and natural products.
The juror for this exhibition is Kathryn Gremley, Director of the Penland Gallery and Visitors Center. Since 1996, Kathryn has curated and installed over 70 invitational exhibitions and 144 instructor exhibits at the Penland Gallery. Off-sight projects include Penland: Mind, Hand, Materials at SOFA Chicago 2004, Iron: A New Vocabulary, an exhibition of contemporary iron which traveled in the south in 2004-05, Identity: Narrative Explorations by Four Penland Artists, at the Milton Rhodes Center in Winston-Salem in 2010, and curatorial assistance for 0-60: The Experience of Time Through Contemporary Craft at the North Carolina Museum of Art and Penland School in 2013.

Random Arts hosts "First Ever Random Artists Gallery"
The Random Arts studio will be transformed into a modern day gallery that will house the art of all those that have been a part of Random Arts over the years. The art work that will be included in the show ranges from book arts, collage, assemblage, jewelry, zen doodle, quilted wall hangings, watercolors, acrylic, drawing, sketching, journaling and much more. Each artist that will be showing their work has participated in one or more workshops here from a large number of instructors who has taught here in the last 17 yrs that Random Arts has been in existence.
Artists may show up to 3 pieces of their work should contact Random Arts as soon as possible and arrange to have your work delivered before February 1st.
