Blowing Rock Art and History Museum - This month's Third Thursday has been MOVED to THURSDAY,AUGUST 25. Jonathan Stuhlman, curator of American art at the Mint Museum, will present "How to Read a Painting" at 4 p.m. in the BRAHM office, upstairs in the Martin House (1098 Main Street). A reception and refreshments will follow.
Jonathan Stuhlman is the curator of American Art at the Mint Museum in Charlotte. He is a co-curator of the Mint Uptown's current exhibit "From New York to Corrymore: Robert Henri and Ireland." In "How to Read a Painting," Stuhlman will help art lovers learn to understand what artists hope to convey while continuing to appreciate their work from a purely aesthetic viewpoint.
