Tryon Gallery Trot this weekend

August 20   Tryon Gallery Trot   Enjoy great art, plus shop in downtown Tryon.  This event includes strolling musicians, performers and vendors. All galleries will either host opening receptions for new exhibits, or be open late hours. Other local merchants and restaurants will be open as well, creating a festive downtown atmoshphere.


The Upstairs Artspace will be featuring three exhibits all opening during the Trot; "Curvature and Color", with artists Kenn Kotara, and Dale McEntire whose shapes and bright palettes are comparable. "Carolina the Beautiful"; a photographic show featuring: Chris Bartol, Jeff Miller, John Morre, Mark Olenski, Norm Powers, John Smith and Rimas Zaliskas, with a focus on local scenic views. And finally "Cassie Ryalls: New Work"; the Upstairs proudly introduces this figurative clay artist.  Kathleen's follows suit with a duo opening exhibit; "Burnsville Potter-Claudia Dunaway", and "Real and Faux-Teddy Bears by Linda Boiter". Linda will be on hand to take orders and to answer questions about her work during the Trot.

Skyuka Fine Art continues its current exhibit of "Women of Western North Carolina". Come and enjoy the works of Linda Cheek, Sheila Wood-Hancock and Kelly Phipps. Also, artist and owner Richard Christian Nelson will be doing a live demonstration of a charcoal portrait. He will discuss his technique and give some insight into this beautiful medium's way of capturing the subject so delightfully.
Richard Baker invites you to join him at his working studio/gallery. Come see his latest luminous landscapes and commissioned pieces featuring Tryon points of interest.  Relax in his newly decorated working studio while enjoying light refreshments and a visual feast.

Green River Gallery is always ready to greet fellow "Trotters" with original artwork as well as beautiful giclee reproductions.

Vines and Stuff continuously unboxes new inventory and features stunning pottery by local artists. Kiveo regularly rotates their expansive wall space with stirring and unusual local artists as well and will be featuring pieces by Bob Neely and Diana and Catherine Gurri.

Tryon Painters & Sculptors will be hosting late hours
in their new space on Maple St. Their current exhibit will be a "Members' Show" featuring both paintings and sculptures.
